PWSAC COST RECOVERY UPDATE
PWSAC has elected to implement its WNH chum/MBH sockeye salmon aggregate management strategy to achieve the assigned revenue goal of approximately $5.8 million. To date, the outstanding balance of the assigned revenue goal is approximately $2.1 million, or approximately 64% complete towards this goal through July 8.
Chum Salmon Update

As of Wednesday, July 8, PWSAC had collected 479,766 chum salmon for cost recovery. Combined with an estimated commercial CPF catch of 221,572 fish, along with broodstock collection of 142,500 fish, the chum salmon run totals 843,838 fish. The anticipated cumulative total return for July 8 was 2.13 million fish.
The 2020 WNH chum salmon egg take began on Monday, July 6. To date, PWSAC has collected approximately 9.5% of the 153 million chum salmon egg goal. Cost recovery fishing operations at WNH are currently on hold to allow for additional broodstock collection. Through July 8, PWSAC had collected as many as 142,500 chum salmon for broodstock at WNH. The anticipated WNH chum salmon broodstock collection for July 8 is 167,518 fish, and PWSAC’s ultimate broodstock goal for 2020 is 201,000 chum salmon.Read more “2020 PWSAC Fisheries Updates”
