Chum Salmon Update

Wally Noerenberg Hatchery:
PWSAC’s preseason forecast for WNH is 1.68 million chum salmon. As of 6/21 gillnet cost recovery (total cost recovery goal between WNH and MBH) is 16% complete, with WNH chum cost recovery 19% complete. Cost recovery efforts have been on hold since the 19th due to low run entry. Cost recovery is expected to start back up tomorrow the 22nd. At this point, PWSAC has been unable to collect brood due to limited fish inside of Lake Bay. PWSAC will be managing cost recovery for run entry into Lake Bay to attempt to allow for brood collection.
