Fisheries Technicians, Levels I – V: Fish Technicians perform duties which include facility repair and maintenance, fish rearing, harvest, egg take; to summarize, general hatchery labor with an Alaskan experience.

Food Service Cooks, Levels I – III: Commissary staff prepares 3 meals/day, plus break time treats, utilizing a 4 week rotating menu. Daily cleaning of the kitchen and cafeteria common areas, plus routine clean-up of freezers and refrigerators are included duties. Must have an Alaska Food Worker’s Card.

Maintenance Technicians: The Maintenance Technicians work closely with the hatchery maintenance staff in broad areas of preventative and routine maintenance, repair and improvement to the facilities, equipment and the various hatchery systems such as electrical, plumbing, and heating. Qualifications include one year hands-on repair and maintenance experience, basic knowledge of carpentry, and a mechanical aptitude.

The Hatchery Operations Manager basic functions: 1) oversee all non-fish culture hatchery operations and staff involved with these tasks including the M/V Alaskan Challenger, 2) prepare annual budgets with hatchery managers for each facility and the annual budget for the Anchorage Distribution Center to present the General Manager/CEO, 3) to work on a daily basis with the General Manager/CEO and members of the top management team to carry out the directives of the Board, 4) oversee the safety and compliance programs for all the facilities operated by PWSAC. This position is one of the top management positions within PWSAC.
Must posses a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, fisheries science or related field with a demonstration of business abilities
Experience in facility logistics, fish hatchery operations with 5 years of supervisory experience and progressively responsible work experience in purchasing, receiving, inventory control or materials management will substitute for the required bachelor’s degree
Salary and Benefits:
Salary range begins at $70,000/yr DOE. Benefit package includes health and life insurance, generous annual leave, 403(b) retirement plan and relocation assistance.
