Temporary Staff Positions

Applications are beginning to arrive for the 2015 season!  We accept applications on a rolling basis for temporary positions and will begin to review applications in December.

Fisheries Technicians:  Start dates for fish rearing projects are as early as February and March.  Fisheries technicians perform a variety of job duties that cover a broad range of responsibilities which include facility repair and maintenance, fish rearing, harvest, egg take; to summarize – general hatchery labor with an Alaskan experience.   A fisheries, biology or similar degree is preferred but not required.  DOE, hourly wage range begins at $9.50/hour per hour with free room and board in modern, dorm-style facilities.  A fisheries, biology or similar degree is preferred but not required.  APPLY NOW

Lead Cooks:  Lead cooks prepare 3-meals/day for hatchery employees and construction crews, utilizing a 4-week rotating menu, supervise assistant cook, inventory incoming bulk food orders, maintain an inventory of bulk food supplies, and prepare produce food orders.  Qualifications include Food Service experience, basic computer skills and supervisory skills.  Must have an Alaska Food Worker’s Card to work in our food service kitchens.  DOE, hourly wage range begins at $13.75 per hour with free room and board in modern, dorm-style facilities.  APPLY NOW

Assistant Cooks:  Under the Lead Cook’s supervision, Assistant Cooks prep for 3-meals/day, preparing at least one meal per day, and filling in on the Lead Cook’s day off; they are responsible for daily cleaning of the kitchen and common areas, plus routine clean-up of freezers and refrigerators. Must have an Alaska Food Worker’s Card to work in our food service kitchens. DOE, hourly wage range begins at $11.50/hour with free room and board in modern, dorm-style facilities.  APPLY NOW

Maintenance Technicians:  These technicians work closely with the hatchery maintenance staff in broad areas of preventative and routine maintenance, repair and improvement to the facilities, equipment and the various hatchery systems such as electrical, plumbing, and heating.  Qualifications include one year hands-on repair and maintenance experience, basic knowledge of carpentry, and be mechanically inclined. Hatchery Manager:
Responsibilities: Year-round management duties include operation of hatchery production, supervision of personnel, coordination of construction projects, and liaison with public and general administration.

Qualifications:

Wages and Benefits: DOE, annual salary range begins at $51,000. Generous benefit package includes company-provided housing with utilities, health insurance, life insurance, generous annual leave accrual, retirement plan and relocation assistance.

Fish Culturist:
Responsibilities: Fish Culturists function as part of the hatchery operations team in the cultivating and rearing of salmon.  Duties include propagation, harvest, analysis of data, hatchery facility maintenance and improvement, and crew leaders for fisheries technicians.

Qualifications:

Cordova Office – Staff Accountant:
Responsibilities: The Staff Accountant functions as part of the 3-person accounting department team.  Duties include processing payroll including electronic payroll and tax reporting, date entry and compilation of weekly hours for payroll preparation, prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end reports, assist with annual audits, and perform accounts payable functions as requested.

Qualifications:

Cordova Office – Human Resources Assistant:
Responsibilities: The Human Resources Assistant functions as part of the 2-person human resources department team.  Duties include advertising, maintaining social media sites, recruiting seasonal employees, processing applications, interviewing candidates, new employee orientation, filing and more.
