Temporary Staff Positions

Fisheries Technicians, Levels I – V:  While hatchery duties are winding down for the season, applications are being accepted for our 2017 season with the rearing beginning in February.   Review of applications will begin in December.  Successful candidates will gain hatchery experience in hatchery maintenance, fish rearing, out migration, with harvest and egg take to follow later in the season.  To summarize – general hatchery labor with an Alaskan experience.  Please complete and submit our application including the dates you are available to work.  Wages begin at $10.00 per hour with free room and board in modern, dorm-style facilities.  A fisheries, biology or similar degree is preferred but not required.  Contact the Cordova office at (907) 424-7511 or toll free at 1-800-884-1331 for any questions and to verify availability.  APPLY NOW

Food Service Cooks, Levels I, II and II:  We are accepting applications for commissary positions for the 2017 season.  Commissary staff prepares 3 meals/day, plus break time treats. Daily cleaning of the kitchen and cafeteria common areas, plus routine clean-up of freezers and refrigerators are included duties. Must have an Alaska Food Worker’s Card to work in our food service kitchens. Hourly wage ranges begin at $11.35 – $14.55 DOE with free room and board in modern, dorm-style facilities.  APPLY NOW

Maintenance Technicians:  These technicians work closely with the hatchery maintenance staff in broad areas of preventative and routine maintenance, repair and improvement to the facilities, equipment and the various hatchery systems such as electrical, plumbing, and heating.  Qualifications include one year hands-on repair and maintenance experience, basic knowledge of carpentry, and a mechanical aptitude. Human Resources Recruiter:  The Human Resource Recruiter functions as part of the human resources team in the developing and implementing recruiting plans and strategies designed to fulfill the temporary employee staffing needs.  Duties include: develop recruiting requirements according to staffing needs; develop and initiate recruiting plans to identify and attract a talented workforce; oversee and conduct candidate screening, interviews, and reference checks, recommend candidates and placement.

Qualifications:

Wages and Benefits: Hourly wage range begins at $25; DOE. Generous benefit package includes health insurance, life insurance, generous annual leave accrual, retirement plan and relocation assistance.

Hatchery Full-time Regular Positions

Maintenance Manager:  The Maintenance Manager functions as part of the hatchery operations team in the cultivating and rearing of fish. Under general direction, plans, manages, and conducts year-round, 24-hour a day when necessary, preventative maintenance and repair duties for the efficient operation of the overall hatchery facility and equipment.  The Maintenance Manager works closely with the Hatchery Manager to plan, manage, and implement facility maintenance, repair and improvement programs as well as supervising maintenance and repair projects. Administrative responsibilities include assisting the manager in the planning, budgeting, documenting, assessing and improving hatchery operations.

Qualifications:

Wages and Benefits: Annual wage range begins at $43,000; DOE. Generous benefit package includes health insurance, life insurance, generous annual leave accrual, retirement plan and relocation assistance.
