Temporary Staff Positions

Fisheries Technicians, Levels I – V:  The adult salmon, the product of the hatcheries’ endeavors, are beginning to return to Alaska’s pristine waters!  An up close, hands-on experience with these magnificent fish is possible by participating in the most exciting project of our season – egg take!  Several positions remain at three of the remote hatcheries from mid August into September and a limited few from late August to early October.  If you have the stamina and energy needed for this egg take project, complete and submit our application from the link below.  Wages begin at $10.00 per hour with free room and board in modern, dorm-style facilities.  A fisheries, biology or similar degree is preferred but not required. Food Service Cooks, Levels I and II:  Opportunities exist to experience the spirit of remote Alaska.  Under the supervision of the Food Service Cook III’s, Food Service Cooks I and II assist with the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to the hardworking hatchery employees.  Do you know proper food handling protocol?  Are you resourceful and creative with ingredients? Maintenance Technicians:  These technicians work closely with the hatchery maintenance staff in broad areas of preventative and routine maintenance, repair and improvement to the facilities, equipment and the various hatchery systems such as electrical, plumbing, and heating.  Qualifications include one year hands-on repair and maintenance experience, basic knowledge of carpentry, and be mechanically inclined. Cordova Office Positions

Human Resources Recruiter:  The Human Resource Recruiter functions as part of the human resources team in the developing and implementing recruiting plans and strategies designed to fulfill the temporary employee staffing needs.  Duties include: develop recruiting requirements according to staffing needs; develop and initiate recruiting plans to identify and attract a talented workforce; oversee and conduct candidate screening, interviews, and reference checks, recommend candidates and placement.

Qualifications:

Wages and Benefits: Hourly wage range begins at $25; DOE. Generous benefit package includes health insurance, life insurance, generous annual leave accrual, retirement plan and relocation assistance.

Administrative Assistant:  The Administrative Assistant has two basic functions: 1) to provide clerical and/or administrative support to the Cordova Administrative Office; and 2) under general direction, plans, coordinates and performs information dissemination of corporate programs and projects.  Clerical duties include: Assist the Executive Secretary with clerical support and license, permit and registration renewals; primary for answering telephones; process mail, printing jobs, and general office clerical needs.  Information assistant duties include: Provide information releases through various media forms about program activities and plans; answer requests for information from the public and agencies; plan layout of advertising materials, publish newsletters, and brochures; assist the IT team with Corporation’s infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Wages and Benefits: Hourly wage range begins at $16; DOE. This is a part-time position, 25 hours per week, with flexible work hours possible.

Anchorage Office Positions

Hatchery Support Assistant Manager:  Functions primarily in purchasing, receiving and distribution activities in support of the remote salmon hatcheries in Prince William Sound. Under general direction, serves a full assistant to the Manager in the Anchorage office.

Qualifications:

Wages and Benefits: Hourly wage range begins at $21; DOE. Generous benefit package includes health insurance, life insurance, generous annual leave accrual, retirement plan and relocation assistance.
