Temporary Staff Positions

Fisheries Technicians:  Learn about hatchery life and experience the unparalleled beauty of Alaska while earning a paycheck.  We accept applications from those interested in working at a remote salmon hatchery in Alaska on a rolling basis.  Job duties cover a broad range and include facility repair and maintenance, fish rearing, harvest, egg-take, and general hatchery labor.  Start dates for outmigration and rearing projects begin in February and March.  Please complete and submit our application including the dates you are available to work.  Wages begin at $9.00 per hour plus room and board in modern, dorm-style facilities.  A fisheries, biology or science-related degree is preferred but not a requirement.

Staff Positions

Human Resource Assistant:

Responsibilities:  This is a full-time, year-round position working in the Cordova Administrative office with the primary responsibility being clerical assistance in the Human Resources department.  Duties include advertising and recruiting, application processing, filing and maintenance of records, plus participation in Board meetings as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years experience as a secretary, administrative assistant or in general office clerical work.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledgeable of the rules and practices of business and technical writing, spelling and punctuation, and related secretarial skills and abilities.
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be able to organize files and documents and maintain records.

Wages and Benefits:  Wage range begins at $14.90/hour.  PWSAC offers a generous benefit package including health insurance, life insurance, annual leave, a retirement plan and relocation.
